Betty L. Stump

SMYRNA - Betty L. Stump passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2018 surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 24, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late Louis Cain and Jenny (Ridley) Cain.
Betty was a member of the Rebekah Assembly of Delaware of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for many years. She enjoyed painting ceramics, and working the concessions at the Smyrna-Clayton Little League in her younger years.
She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Stump; her son, Donald Stump; and her daughter, Carole Gruwell who just passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis Stump of Dover and Robert Stump (Bobbie) of Glasgow; her daughters, Susan Hand (Roy) of Dover and Betty Lou Evans of Smyrna; her daughter-in-law, Linda Stump of Dover; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and great grandpups.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. in conjunction with memorial services for her daughter, Carol E. Gruwell.
Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Compassionate Care Hospice, 20165 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
