Betty Joann Fridley, 84
DOVER - Betty Joann Fridley passed away peacefully Friday, May 5, 2023. She was born July 5, 1938 in Boonville Indiana, the daughter of Forrest and Alice Hodges.
Betty was a 1956 graduate of Boonville High School. She came to Delaware in 1957 and worked at Playtex for many years. She met her husband Ted in 1965 and had two children. In the mid 70's she opened a ceramic shop and worked there until it burnt down in 1980. After Ted was killed in a plane accident in 1981, she decided to carry on his appliance repair business and went to school to fix appliances until the ripe old age of 70.
She was a caring wife and a loving mother who had a heart of gold. In her younger years, her hobbies were doing ceramics, bowling, crocheting, collecting bunnies and she loved watching NASCAR till her last days.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Theodore. She is survived by her two boys, Bryant (Donna) and Stacey (Lisa); four grandchildren, Brandon, Lanee, Staci and Tanner; extended family and friends.
Funeral service Wednesday, May 10, 2023, 1 pm at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE. Friends may visit beginning at 12 Noon. Interment to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, DE.
