CLAYTON - Betty Jean "B.J." Smith, 60, of Clayton, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, in Capital Nursing Home, Holly Unit, of Dover surrounded by her family. She was born July 16, 1950 in Easton, Md., to the late Homer Thompson Jr. and Margaret Bradley Dehorty of Clayton. Ms. Smith had worked for Playtex of Dover, retiring after 33 years of service. She was a member of the Templeville Community Church, the Playtex Bowling League and the Women of the Moose #1229. She enjoyed needle point in her earlier years and later camping at Trails End in Virginia. Her greatest love was being around her family and friends. In addition to her father, she is predeceased by one brother, Willard H. Dehorty and her grandmother, Rosie Larrimore Besides her mother, she is survived by her son, Charles Smith of Clayton; two sisters, Barbara Bailey of Hartly and Sophia Beaver and husband Carl of Wyoming; one brother, George Dehorty and wife Jen of Henderson, Md.; two granddaughters, Brittany Smith and Victoria Smith; the granddaughter's mother, Kimberly Smith of Clayton; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at 11 a.m., from Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W Sunset Ave, Greensboro, Md. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, Dec. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Memorials can be sent to Templeville Community Church; P.O.
