FAIRFAX, Va. - Betty Godwin, 80, of Fairfax, Va., passed away in her home on Jan. 4, 2011. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Maggie Mae Pusey. In addition to her parents, her husband, Edwin P. Godwin, preceded her in death. Betty and Ed moved to Virginia from Georgetown in the early 1960's, but maintained ties with their numerous friends and relatives across Delaware. Betty was an active member in the Fellowship Baptist Church in Oakton, Va., where she loved to sing and worship with her friends. Betty willed a portion of her estate to "Child's Fund International" (CFI). Those wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers might consider Betty's church or CFI. She is survived by her four children, Janet, Dennis, Philip and Lori; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
