Bertone: Why are my taxes rising if I don’t have public services?

Posted

I have to ask.

I have no sewer and no public water, and my trash is handled by a private company.

I have no storm drains, no street lights and no sidewalks. I have no hydrants.

If I see a snowplow in my neighborhood, it’s an anomaly.

I have no kids in school.

What exactly am I paying 30% more in property taxes for?

I’m just curious.
