Beatrice Lucernoni Atwell, 82 ODESSA - Beatrice Lucernoni Atwell, 82, of Odessa, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010. Born on Dec. 21, 1927, in Pittston, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Tessie (Partches) Lucernoni. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon A. Henderson, Sr; a brother, Andrew Lucernoni; and two sisters, Madlyn Foraker and Marian Hitch. She is survived by her loving husband, Dana; her children, Joyce Nelson and husband, Richard, Linda Lewis and husband, Edward, Lana Samson and husband, Michael, Beverly Henderson, Leon Henderson, Jr. and his wife, Karen and Bayard Henderson and his wife, Rhoda; three step-children, Dwight Atwell and his wife, Lora, Annette Stewart and Diana Passler; 11 grandchildren, Scott Nelson, Donna Dixon, Michele Duke, Erica Samson, Covey and Chris Shetzler, Amy Heath, Jennifer Ott and Ray, Tim and Angela Henderson; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17, at St. Pauls United Methodist Church, 406 Main Street, Odessa, where family and friends may visit from 2 to 3 p.m. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery.
