DOVER - Barbara S. Nieslawski, aka "Aunt Geek" aka "Bobbie" passed away, Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Christiana Care Hospital.
Mrs. Nieslawski was born February 17, 1948, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Alfred and Eula Sheats.
Barbara was raised in Bear, Delaware. She attended school in Middletown, DE. She waitressed for over 20 years at Woolworth's Restaurant. She was also a school bus driver for Hilton Bus Service for many years. Barbara's greatest passion was for horses. She enjoyed all things equestrian, participating in fundraising rides with "The Red Devils" at the Tuckahoe Equestrian Center. Barbara enjoyed taking her grandchildren out to the farm, caring for her horses, and making memories with her friends and family. Barbara had a special place in her heart for animals, especially Shiloh, Quincy, and Buttercup.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her late husband, Bill Nieslawski in 2007.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail White and her husband Jimmy of Camden; son, William Burris and his wife Lisa of Marydel; grandchildren, Matthew Burris, and Heather White, Brittney and William Burris; great grandchildren, Brandon Burris, Kaylee Waite, Danny White and Mackenzie Jarrell; her sister, Betty Fox; and her brother, Alfred Sheats both of Bear; as well as her nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to The Red Devils Annual Fund (1930 Greenspring Dr., Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093).
