Barbara R. Lindenkohl, 85

SALISBURY, Md. - Barbara Lindenkohl, 85, of Salisbury, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at her home in Salisbury after a short illness. Mrs. Lindenkohl was born Nov. 5, 1923 in Westchester, Pa., to the late Samuel Steele Crissman and Kathryn Crissman. She graduated from Goldy Beacom College and worked at Atlas Chemical Engineering Company in Wilmington, Del., as an executive secretary after her graduation. She spent most of her life giving of herself to her family, friends, and community service. In past years, she was on the Board of Directors of the Junior Board Shop at PRMC, and also Friends of Poplar Hill Mansion. She volunteered with many organizations throughout her life, most recently with Coastal Hospice. She loved spending time at Winterthur Gardens in Wilmington, and in Williamsburg, Va. Her passion was her antique collection, especially in Early American lighting. She was preceeded in death by both of her husbands, Jackson W. Raysor of Milford, Del., and George Lindenkohl of Salisbury. She is survived by her brother, Samuel Crissman of Naples, Fla., and her sister, Nancy Feltus of San Diego, Calif. Her brother, Harry Crissman of Kissimmee, Florida passed away in 2005. She is also survived by her step-daughter Debra Taylor and her husband Dwight of Salisbury, step-daughter Sandi Horpel and her husband Chris of Mt View, Calif., and step-son Scott Lindenkohl and his wife Martha of Cockeysville, Md. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Brad Taylor, Jessie Lindenkohl, Christian Lindenkohl, Matthew Lindenkohl, and many nieces and nephews that had a very special place in her heart. A private memorial service and internment will follow at a later date.
