DOVER - Barbara J. Byler passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Byler was born Apr. 21, 1928 in Chouteau, Okla. to the late Joseph Detweiler and Lydia Yoder Detweiler. She was a homemaker, as well as a home health aide, the head baker at Dutch Family Restaurant, and co-owner at L&B Bakery. Mrs. Byler enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, birds and her flower beds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin W. Byler, Sr. in 2008; two grandsons, Kevin Charles Nissley and Kerry Nathan Byler; a great-granddaughter, Serena Nicole Martin; five brothers, Tobias Detweiler, Henry Detweiler, Rudy Detweiler, John Detweiler, and an infant brother; three sisters, Salina Mast, Anna Miller, and Elizabeth Byler. She was the last of her siblings. She is survived by her children, Anna Mary Miller and her husband Raymond of Catlett, VA, David Byler of Sarasota, FL, Lydia Mae Byler and her husband William of Clayton, Marvin Byler and his wife Millie of Amissville, VA, Viola Gingerich and her husband Timothy D. of Dover, Timothy Byler of Catlett, VA, Alvin Byler, Jr., of Spencerville, IN, Ruth Nissley and her husband Mark of McMinnville, OR, Freeman Byler of Spencerville, IN, Linda Bontrager and her husband William of Dover, William Byler and his wife Patricia of Clayton, Martha Ann Byler of Sarasota, FL and Wanda Lehto of Dover; 36 grandchildren, 40 great- grandchildren and expecting her 41st June 10th. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am, Monday, Feb. 8, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church, Rt. 8 & 163 Victory Chapel Road, Dover. A viewing will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at Central Mennonite Church, 220 W. Denny's Road, Dover.
