B. Jane Corkran

CAMDEN - B. Jane Corkran, age 91, of Camden, died Aug. 18, 2011. Born in Covington, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Weiland II, and Jennie Elizabeth Bourne Weiland. Jane and her family had moved to Dover in 1960 where she had been a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She had been a faithful member of Christ Episcopal Church in Dover where she had served on several committees throughout the years including the Assisted Meals Program. Jane was a former dedicated volunteer with Delaware Hospice where she contributed to those who could not do for themselves. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Earle Houston Corkran, who died in 1987; and two of her children, Stephen L. Corkran and Susan C. Roushey. Jane is survived by two sons, E. Houston Corkran and wife Joan of Nazareth, Pa., David W. Corkran and wife Margie of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Carol B. Alt and spouse, The Rev. Ernest J. of Camden, and Barbara Jo Leavitt and spouse, David of Colorado Springs, Colo.; along with two sisters, three brothers, 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A Requiem Mass will be offered at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, in Christ Episcopal Church, State and Waters streets, Dover. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Family requests donations in Jane's memory be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901. Condolences may be forwarded and Guest Book signed via www.ambruso.com.
