DOVER — Dover High baseball player Kole Turner was voted this week’s State News Athlete of the Week after leading the Senators to a pair of wins in three games.
The junior allowed just one run and four hits in 12 innings while earning both victories on the mound. Turner also hit .333 with four stolen bases in the three games.
For the season, Turner is 3-1 with a 2.38 ERA as a pitcher while hitting .367 out of the leadoff spot.
The son of Dover athletic director Kevin Turner, Kole is a four-sport athlete for the Senators and a second-year captain in baseball. He is also a National Honor Society member.
“Kole has been around the program since he was in diapers,” said Dover coach Nick Spadafino. “He has great pride in representing Dover High in every way possible. He’s a great leader that the whole team feeds off of.”
