SMYRNA - Arvilla "Madeline" B. Pendracky passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. She was born on Sept. 24, 1917 in McCloud County, Stewart, Minn., the daughter of the late Myron and Martha (Kaping) Baysinger. She answered her call to duty, in 1942 she was employed by the Pentagon. In 1943, during WWII, she enlisted and served three years in the Women's Army Corps until her honorable discharge as 1st Sergeant. She then re-joined Civil Service until retiring in May, 1979. She was a member of Women's Memorial Foundation and the Air Force Sgt. Assoc. Auxiliary. She was an active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Middletown. In 1992, she received a Certificate of Achievement for her volunteer work with after school homework & care classes for Child, Inc. and Parent Education Program. Her hands were always busy sewing, crocheting, quilting, baking and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Buena; and her two brothers, Lowell and Luallen. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Albert; her loving and dedicated caregiver, son Timothy; her daughter, Lynne; her joy & delight in life, granddaughters Kathleen and Margery; her brother Elmer and sisters-in-law Marion and Anna; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. A private family service will be held at Faries Funeral Home in Smyrna. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 116 E. Main St., Middletown, DE 19709 or to Season's Hospice, 220 Continental Dr, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
