SLAUGHTER BEACH, Del. - Arthur J. "AJ" Bunting, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at home. AJ was born in Slaughter Beach, the son of the late Ollie and Hattie Mae (Palmer) Bunting. He served in the Delaware Army National Guard for 3 years. He worked at Burris Foods in Harrington as a Truck Driver for 40 years before retiring in 1996. He continued working part time at Burris for the next 7 years. AJ loved to fish and also enjoyed sitting in front of his home and waving to everyone who would pass by. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine in 2012; two sisters, Sadie Finnefrock and Doris Bunting; and a brother, Franklin Bunting. He is survived by three sons, Arthur J. Bunting II and his wife Kathy, of Harrington, John Bunting and his wife Ann, of Greenwood, and Thomas Bunting and his wife Nina, of Milford; one brother, Sylvester Bunting, of Seaford; 11 grandchildren, Tina Wells, Angela Spishock, Arthur J. Bunting III, John Bunting II, William Finkbiner, Robert Finkbiner, Cathy Clifton, Lisa Thornley, T.J. Bunting, Kevin Bunting and Dawna Roth; as well as 19 great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014 and again from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Rt. 113. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
