DOVER — A 27-year-old Dover man was arrested after investigation into a carjacking at Hollywood Diner last Saturday, authorities said.

Dover Police said Deandre Bennett was taken into custody without incident Friday and charged with first-degree robbery. Mr. Bennett was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $60,000 cash bail, according to spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid.

Police said the incident occurred at 5:28 p.m. and a 17-year-old female from New York was injured in an attempt to escape from the passenger seat. She was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus and treated for minor injuries, police said.
