FBN--LIONS-CAMP

Lions coach Dan Campbell addresses Terrion Arnold’s situation with the team on the eve of camp

SUMMARY: Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell says he addressed the franchise’s decision to release cornerback Terrion Arnold with the team on the eve of training camp, calling it unfortunate. Detroit released Arnold last month, shortly after a Florida judge set Arnold’s bail at $1 million on eight felony charges stemming from allegations he orchestrated the abduction and beating of three men. A month after the 2025 season ended for the Lions, prosecutors in Florida say Arnold arranged for the men to be pistol-whipped after he wrongly suspected them of stealing $100,000 in cash and luxury goods from him. In March, Campbell said the team believed Arnold was not based on the information they had at that time.

BBW--WPBL-MAKING HISTORY

A new league marks another major moment in a scattered history for women’s pro baseball

SUMMARY: The inaugural season of the Women’s Pro Baseball League is another major moment in the scattered history for women’s professional baseball in the United States. While women have been connected to baseball since the very beginning of the game, the first professional women’s league was the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Immortalized in the film “A League of Their Own,” it ran from 1943-54. Leslie Heaphy, the chair of the women in baseball committee for the Society for American Baseball Research, says the AAGPBL and WPBL share an emphasis on marketing, albeit for vastly different eras.
