TEN--FRENCH OPEN-SABALENKA-OSAKA

Sabalenka vs. Osaka to be 1st women’s night match at the French Open in 3 years

SUMMARY: The high-profile fourth-round matchup between top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka and fellow four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka on Monday will be the first women’s night match at the French Open in three years. Roland Garros organizers have been criticized for scheduling only men’s matches under the lights in recent years. Organizers have said they are under pressure from TV broadcasters and that women’s best-of-three set matches are too short compared to the best-of-five format for men. It will be only the fifth women’s match in the five years since the night sessions were introduced in Paris. The last women’s match at night also involved Sabalenka when she beat Sloane Stephens in 2023.

SOC--PSG-WHAT NEXT

PSG is targeting a Champions League threepeat. So how do you make the best better?

SUMMARY: After going back-to-back in the Champions League, the next target for Paris Saint-Germain is the threepeat. The French team, built with Qatari riches and styled by a Spanish perfectionist, looks capable of setting all kinds of records in European club soccer’s biggest competition. And after triumphing 4-3 in a penalty shootout against Arsenal in Saturday’s final, there is no indication that PSG is ready to relinquish its position of dominance. Those words will ring ominously around Europe. When Qatar-backed PSG goes to the market, it goes hard.

HKN--STANLEY CUP-HART

Carter Hart’s highly scrutinzed comeback has arrived at the Stanley Cup Final with Vegas

SUMMARY: The Vegas Golden Knights are back in the Stanley Cup Final, largely thanks to goalie Carter Hart. He’s been a key player in their quest for a second championship in four years. Hart’s performance has been stellar, but his presence is divisive. He was acquitted of sexual assault charges last July, and the NHL reinstated him. Despite initial struggles and an injury, Hart has excelled under coach John Tortorella. He’s now a Conn Smythe Trophy candidate. The series at Carolina opens Tuesday.

What to know about the Stanley Cup Final between the Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes

Carolina is all about possessing and shooting the puck and suffocating opponents, while Vegas has made a high-scoring run to the final. The Hurricanes lost just once in 13 playoff games through the first three rounds. The Golden Knights have won 19 of 24 since a late-season coaching change from Bruce Cassidy to John Tortorella. Game 1 is Tuesday night in Raleigh.

REL--MEXICO-SOCCER JERSEYS

Mexican designer blends soccer and pre-Hispanic culture ahead of the World Cup

SUMMARY: It’s no coincidence that Hugo Rosas’ jersey designs ahead of the World Cup resemble some of Mexico’s most iconic decorations. His work fuses soccer and Mexican identity to showcase his country’s culture beyond its borders. His latest collection is called “Calados del Alma” or “Cutouts of the Soul.” It draws inspiration from ancient Mexican beliefs and papel picado, the delicate cut-paper ornaments commonly used during local celebrations and holidays.
