SOC--ENGLISH ROUNDUP
West Ham relegated from Premier League and Spurs stay up as Guardiola, Salah make emotional exits
SUMMARY: West Ham has been relegated and Tottenham has survived on an emotional final day of the Premier League season when Pep Guardiola and Mohamed Salah said farewell after record-breaking spells in English soccer. West Ham beat Leeds 3-0 but that wasn’t enough to climb out of the relegation zone. That’s because fourth-to-last Tottenham won 1-0 at home to Everton to stay two points ahead of West Ham. Guardiola’s decade-long tenure at Manchester City ended with a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa. Salah was given a standing ovation and kissed the Anfield turf when he was substituted in his 442nd and last game for Liverpool, a 1-1 draw with Brentford.

CAR--INDIANAPOLIS 500
Alex Palou seeks new milestone as he attempts to continue dominance with 2nd straight Indy 500 win
SUMMARY: Winning one Indianapolis 500 was a career-changing moment for Alex Palou. Winning a second would put Palou in elite company. The first Spaniard to win IndyCar’s biggest race returns to Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s 2.5-mile oval as he tries to add another milestone to his resume by becoming the seventh driver in race history to win back-to-back 500s. Palou has dominated the series lately, winning seemingly anything and everything in sight — three straight series titles, 11 of the last 23 races and now the second Indy pole of his career. But he’ll have plenty of drivers chasing him.
