CAR--NASCAR-TALLADEGA PREVIEW

Brad Keselowski needs a little bit of luck to keep up with the Toyotas at Talladega

SUMMARY: Brad Keselowski will try to win for the seventh time in his NASCAR career at Talladega Superspeedway when the Cup Series takes to the high banks of the Alabama track. Keselowski says Talladega’s pack racing gives him and his fellow Ford drivers a shot at negating a definitive speed advantage Toyota has established by winning seven of the first nine races this season. He says they “just need a little bit of luck.” Keselowski is tied with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon for second in NASCAR history for wins at Talladega. Only Dale Earnhardt Sr., who won a record 10 times there, has more.

BE WELL--JAPAN-RADIO EXERCISE

Japan awakens to Radio Taiso exercise tradition. One face of the country’s longevity

SUMMARY: Radio Taiso is an exercise program in Japan that comes on the air every morning at 6:30. The program includes 10 minutes of basic calisthenics that people of all ages can do. Light piano music helps participants follow the basic choreography. Radio Taiso has an almost 100-year history, formally introduced in 1928 and coinciding with the enthronement of Emperor Hirohito. The tradition endures because the exercises are suitable for all ages and capabilities, and easily accessible. Japan has one of the longest lived-populations on Earth and this ritual helps promote physical and emotional well-being.

HKN--CANADIENS-DACH

Kirby Dach stars in Canadiens’ Game 3 win after harsh online criticism

SUMMARY: What a difference 72 hours made for Kirby Dach. On Tuesday, the Montreal forward drew the ire of fans after an ill-timed icing and a defensive lapse in overtime led to J.J. Moser’s winning goal in a 3—2 Game 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. By Friday night in front of a roaring Bell Centre crowd, Dach flipped the script, turning frustration into redemption with a goal and an assist in the Canadiens’ 3-2 overtime win that gave Montreal a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven matchup. The vitriol spewed online toward the Dach following the Game 2 loss, forcing the 6-foot-4 center to delete his Instagram account.
