GEORGETOWN - Anthony S. Bagwell, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Anthony was truly one of a kind. He lived his life by his own rules and it was his prerogative to do so. When speaking, he was always up front and straight to the point. He proclaimed to tell the truth, and was a man of his word, intelligent, and perceptive. Naturally, his "look on the bright side" personality kept him upbeat and in good spirits. It was hardly ever a dull moment when Anthony was around. He could make people laugh without trying, thanks to his cool & calm demeanor and parable like vocabulary. At any given moment, he would recite a famous quote, bible verse, or lyrics from a song. He had his own way of making them fit into a conversation. His favorites were Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative", DMX's "Lose My Mind", and Nelly's "Air Force Ones". He had his own dance and it will never be forgotten. Papa was a rolling stone and Anthony refused to let moss grow under his feet. His unofficial taxi service kept him on the go. He had his mind on his money and his money on his mind. He was optimistic yet rational and down to earth. He was patient, yet very determined. This is who Anthony was, and if he wasn't then, why would we say so. Anthony was also known as Saint Anthony S. Bagwell, Sr., Veen, Cool Veen, Street Champ and Daddy. He will always be remembered as a fighter. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Bagwell; three sons Syrinus and his wife Jennifer; Jody and his wife Lavonne; and Matthew; two daughters Larveania and Sylvia; many grandchildren; four brothers Nathaniel Bagwell, Lester Hickman, Roy Bagwell and Rollie Bagwell; three sisters Betty, Grace and Essie; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford.
