Anthony M. Brooks Sr.

Brooks Sr., 52 DOVER - Anthony M. Brooks Sr., affectionately known as "Tony", of Dover, formerly of Centreville, Md., died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012. He was 52. Mr. Brooks was born Aug. 11, 1959, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late George A. and Mary Elizabeth Higgins Brooks. Tony was a chef at WT Smithers Restaurant and Tavern in Dover for the past 15 years. Prior to that, he was a custodian for the Queen Anne's County, Md., Public School System. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George in 2008. Mr. Brooks is survived by his son, TJ Brooks of Centreville, Md.; aunt, Jennie Mae Brooks of Centreville, Md.; niece, Leah Brooks of Philadelphia; and several cousins and many friends. A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to "The Benefit for Tony Brooks" c/o Citizens Bank, 8 W. Loockerman St., Dover, DE 19901, to help defray funeral expenses. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
