Anthony Gray Scott CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Anthony Gray Scott, of Chestertown, died on Feb. 13, 2010. He was born in Rome, N.Y., on Jan. 11, 1929, and grew up in Padanaram, Mass. He was a graduate of Harvard College, class of 1950, and received a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Columbia University's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 1954. He worked for E I DuPont Co for 28 years in research, development and business planning for new as well as existing products. After retiring in 1982, he joined with two other partners to develop new products for the health care industry. He enjoyed doing volunteer work for the Harvard College Schools and Scholarship Committee in Wilmington, Del., as well as for his local parish, Emmanuel Church in Chestertown. He also served as chairman of the Finance Committee for the Episcopal Diocese of Easton. He was a member of the Wilmington Club in Wilmington, Del., and was a past President of the Vicmead Hunt Club in Greenville, Del. He loved racquet sports, walking in England and France, and most of all, sailing on the Chesapeake and Buzzards Bay, where he was a long time summer resident of Mishaum Point in South Dartmouth, Mass. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Jane, three children, Elizabeth, Robert, and Anne; and five grandchildren. A grandson predeceased him in 2007. Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 19, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Chestertown, Md. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 101 Cross Street, P.O.
