Annis M. 'Ann' Laub, 89
SMYRNA - Annis M. "Ann" Laub, of Smyrna, went to meet Jesus on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at her residence, with her daughter, Debbie, by her side. She was 89.
Born Sept. 19, 1918, in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Rachel (Hudson) Breitigan.
Ann enjoyed working in the home health care profession and in her earlier years worked at Delaware Home and Hospital, Smyrna, where she provided care to the elderly.
She collected angels and enjoyed reading her Bible.
She especially enjoyed listening to Christian music and watching Christian programs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Laub; three brothers, Samuel, Thomas and Lavere Breitigan; a son, Ernest C. Baker Jr.;, and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Klase.
Annis is survived by three daughters, Debbie Laub, with whom she lived in Smyrna, Shirley Robinson and her husband Rob of Clayton and Janet Baker Atkinson and her husband Herbert of Townsend; two sons, Ronald Baker and his wife Emma of Newark and John Baker and his wife Cheryl of Smyrna; a daughter-in-law, Willanna Baker of Dover; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Delaware Hospice for the care they provided.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
