Annie Elizabeth Spence, 78

FRANKFORD - Annie Elizabeth Spence, of Frankford, was born May 13, 1930, in Exmore, Va., to the late Betty Downing and Charlie Parker. She departed this life Thursday, June 12, 2008, at home after a long illness. She was 78.

Annie received her education in the Accomack County (Va.) School District.

She retired from the Stardust Hotel, Ocean City, Md.

She was married to the late Reginald Spence for 15 years.

Annie was a member of Union Wesley United Methodist Church, Clarksville, for many years.

She had a passion for beautiful flowers and plants. Whenever one went to her home, she always had a variety of different arrangements.

Annie had many friends, near and far. She was loved by many.

She always treated her nieces and nephews as her own children.

Annie leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Agnes Blake (Frank) of Wilmington; a special nephew whom she called her son, Thomas L. Parker (Mae) of Asbury Park, N.J.; a special niece who took care of her during her illness, Ethel Bibbins of Milford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Sanders Downing, Edward Bibbins and James Bibbins; and two sisters, Ethel Warren and Sara Lee Bibbins.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Union Wesley United Methodist Church, Frankford, where a viewing will begin two hours prior to the service.

A viewing will also be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.

Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
