DOVER - Anna 'Mae' Salevan passed away at Kent General Hospital, on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Mae was born in Milford, Del. to the late Raymond and Inez Hall. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Roland P. Mumford; and her siblings. Mae worked for many years as a special education teacher. In 1974, she received the Teacher of the Year Award for the Caesar Rodney School District. This was her proudest accomplishment. Mae had several hobbies and interests. She enjoyed gardening, and could produce red, juicy tomatoes, well into the winter months. She was an avid baseball fan, and stayed glued to the television for every Phillies game. She loved her home, and gathering with friends and neighbors. Most importantly, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mae will always be remembered for her kind, independent, and generous nature. Mae was married to Edward J. Salevan, for 20 years, until his death in 1988. Together they enjoyed listening to country music, and traveling to different locations where Ed played the steel guitar. Mae was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of Dover. She was very involved in the church, and taught Sunday School for many years. Mae is survived by her sister, Emma Catherine Neeman; loving daughter, Linda Jones, and her husband Reed; step children, Edward (Margaret) Salevan, Holly (Eugene) Helmick, David (Lisa) Salevan, and Jeffrey Salevan; grandchildren, Lori Lin Vien, Reed Rowe Jones Jr., Christopher and Patrick Helmick, Steve, Julia, Jeffrey Jr., Jared and Jasmine Salevan, Christy Tosatto, and Elizabeth Kilmartin; and nine great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at the Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 S. State St. Dover, De. 19901, where friends may gather one hour prior. After a time of fellowship, burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Old Presbyterian Cemetery, Dover, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mae's honor can be made to The Presbyterian Church of Dover. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
