MILFORD - Anna Mae Walls, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Courtland Manor, Dover. She was 85. Mrs. Walls was born in Willow Grove, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Boyd Glanden. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and flower and vegetable gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Walls in 1975; brothers, Arthur Glanden and Lewis Glanden; and sisters, Viola Carpenter, Cora Lane, and Pearl Ryan. She is survived by her sons, Charles "Bill" Walls and his wife Janice, Joseph "Buddy" Walls Jr. and his wife Barbara, and Lewis "Louie" Walls and his wife Jean, all of Milford; daughters, Joyce Glenn and her husband Charles, Betty Lou Mintzer and her husband William, all of Milford, M. Louise Betts and her husband Willard of Frederica, and Bonnie Thompson and her husband Gary of Milford; grandchildren, Charles Walls Jr., Alberta Johnston, Richard Walls, Steven Walls, Bill Mintzer Jr., Crystal Webb, Donna Robbins, Bill Betts III, Julie Hudecheck, Michael Wisseman, Allison Wisseman, Andrea Walls, Joshua Walls, A.J. Walls, Chelsea Walls, Briana Walls and Tyler Walls; 21 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bessie McKinney of New Castle. Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2009 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends called after 1 p.m. Interment was in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
