DOVER - Anna Mae Cook passed away Saturday April 13, 2013 At Pinnacle Nursing Home, Smyrna. She was born Dec. 25, 1933 in Shelltown, Md. to the late Jennings Gibbons and Carrie Dryden Gibbons. She and her husband owned and operated Cooks Transportation in Cheswold from 1965 till his death in 1987. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Norman L. Cook in 1987; brothers, Cecil, Ralph and William Gibbons and sister, Margaret Worth; and her companion of many years, Gene Short. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Lee Chaney of McConnellsburg, Pa; sister in law, Carrie Gibbons, Camden, Del.; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, 2928 Sharon Hills Road, Dover, DE 19904. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to charity of your choice. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
