
CHESTERTOWN, MD - Andrew Ludwig Foster died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his home with his wife by his side.
Andrew was born Aug. 23, 1944 in Nashville, Tenn. the son of the late Ermon Foster and Wilma Butterbaugh Foster. Andy was a 1963 graduate of Chestertown High School. He continued his education in Lynchburg College, in Lynchburg, Va. for two years before he was drafted in 1968. He served in the United States Air Force through 1974, when he was honorably discharged. Andy completed four years with Washington College during his military service and received his BA degree. He returned back home and went to work for UPS where he delivered in the local area for 25 years before retiring in 2000. Andy was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. In his early years, he was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed collecting antique model cars, and going to car shows. He also collected motorcycles and loved hunting at Remington Farms.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Foster of Chestertown, MD; his children, Dax Foster of Charlottesville, Va., Jennine Zebroski (Kevin) of Utah, Scott Foster of Crumpton, MD; step-sons, John Short (Linda) of Hartly, Brian Short (Angie) of Chestertown, MD; sister, Bonnie Howell (Jed) of Sudlersville, MD; four grandchildren, John Richard Zebroski of Utah, Johnathan Short of Felton, Dustin Short of Chestertown, MD, Courtney Short of Chestertown, MD; and close friend, Betsy Tait of Chestertown, MD.
Services will be held on Thursday, Jun. 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Rd Chestertown, MD, where a visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at St. Paul's Cemetery in Chestertown, MD.
