Andrew Franklin Gray

SMYRNA - Andrew Franklin Gray, age 88, of Smyrna, went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease on August 20, 2016. He was born July 1, 1928, the son of the late Robert and Jewel Gray and grew up in Chester, Pa. He was a Korean War veteran, serving his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force. Andrew held several jobs in his career in the service industry, the last one being the original greeter when Wal Mart first opened in Dover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his brother, Bob; and his sister, Louise. He is survived by his daughters, Diane LeMay (Ron) and Janet Milner (Pat); his son, Donald Gray; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his sister, Sylvia (Bruce); and his brother, Raymond (Barb). A celebration of life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Ewell's St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 401 W. Street in Clayton. Burial will be private. It was Andy's request for everyone attending to wear bright colors because he's no longer color blind. Condolence letters may also be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
