Brittingham, 89 DOVER - Alvin L. "Charlie" Brittingham passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 89. He was born on Jan. 15, 1923, in Millsboro, son of the late Charles and Bertha (Cooper) Brittingham. Charlie spent his life as a successful farmer. He was a member of the Kent County Farm Bureau, Wyoming United Methodist Church, Camden-Wyoming Lions Club, Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge, and the VFW Dover. He will be fondly remembered for his wit and sense of humor. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Brittingham in 1994 He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Brittingham; son, Stuart Brittingham of Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Norma Jane Henry and her husband Dr. Artjir Henry of Lewes; grandchildren Deirdre McCutcheon and her husband Robert of Dover, and Caroline Hall and her husband Larry of Upper Marlboro, Md.; and great-grandchildren, Jefford McCutcheon, Rebecca McCutcheon, and Eric McCutcheon, all of Dover; and a brother, Robert Brittingham and his wife Doris of Smyrna. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover. Immediately following the service, the family will have a time of fellowship. Burial will be private in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wyoming United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 389, Camden, DE 19934; or the Camden-Wyoming Lions Club, 220 Weeks Dr., Camden, DE 19934. Letters of condolence can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
