Alphonsa Ovella Wilson

Alphonsa Ovella Wilson, 56 NEWARK - Alphonsa Ovella Wilson "Fonz, Al", 56, of Newark, departed her earthly life on Dec. 28, 2009. She was born on Sept. 10, 1956, in Millington, Md., to Margaret Hackett and the late Leroy Wilson. She was employed as a Labor & Delivery Nurse at Christiana Hospital for 28 years, and retired in 2009. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Hackett of Smyrna; a devoted daughter, Shasha Evans; and long-time companion, Lex Evans, both of Newark. Also surviving her are three sisters, Beatrice Hackett of Camden, Sheila Hackett of Smyrna, and Tara Hackett of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Ricky Hackett and Claude Hackett, both of Smyrna; six nieces, four nephews, three aunts, two uncles, and a host of cousins, dear friends and co-workers. Service will be noon, Monday, Jan. 4, at Ezion Fair Baptist Church, 1400 B Street, Wilmington, where a viewing will be from 10 a.m. to noon. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle. In lieu of flowers, send contributions to Ezion Fair Baptist Church and to Delaware State University's Nursing Dept. for scholarships for aspiring nurses.
