Alice Mae Starkey Collins

MARYDEL - Alice Mae Starkey Collins of Marydel, died Friday, October 28, 2011, at Hospice of Queen Anne's in Centreville, Maryland. She was born December 15, 1931, in Sudlersville, the daughter of the late, Harry and Pearl (Seward) Burris. Mrs. Collins lived in this area for all of her life. She was a timekeeper at Playtex where she retired in 1988 after 38 years. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Donald Lee Collins; her son, James Arthur Starkey and wife Kathy of Henderson; sister, Doris Burris of Templeville; grandsons, Donald N. Starkey and fiancé Tammy and Brian Starkey all of Henderson; sister-in-law, Christine Burris of Marydel; a special friend, Mary Jane Sapp of Harrington; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, William Burris and Melvin Burris. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011. at the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W Sunset Ave., Greensboro, with visitation one hour prior to funeral service. Burial will follow in the Templeville Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be made at www.fleegleandhelfenbein.com.
