Whitey was born May 3, 1928 in Trenton, N.J., to the late Charles S. and Minerva (Pahlman) White and grew up in Fallsington, Pa. He was a life-long farmer having farms in Bucks County, Pa., before moving to Ridgely, Md., and finally settling in Harrington, for the past 18 years growing corn, soybeans and selling straw. He attended Burrsville United Methodist Church in Burrsville, Md. He also drove school bus for Neschaminy School District for 14 years doing double duty with his farming responsibilities. Whitey was a green tractor man, having amassed quite a collection of John Deere tractors and equipment plus many trinkets from family during birthday and Christmas celebrations. Whitey was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gwendolyn Virginia (Hibbs) White; three daughters, Wendy Field and husband, Robert, Diane McGaulley and husband Brian, all of Levittown, Pa., and Deborah Hayes and husband, John of Marydel; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Molden Funeral Chapel Inc., 133 Otter Street, Bristol, Pa., where friends may call between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Final interment will be immediately after the memorial service in Rosedale Memorial Park.
