Albert J. Schmidt, 71
DOVER - Albert J. Schmidt passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 22, 2023. Albert (Albie) was born on February 17, 1952, in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Marie and Albert J. Schmidt. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Andrew J. Schmidt, in 2022.
Albie retired after 40 years from Proctor and Gamble (previously Scott Paper). He was a hard working man, but throughout his life, family came first. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. If any of his children or grandchildren needed him, he was there. He was a lifelong Penn State fan and enjoyed traveling with his wife and coaching and attending his grandchildren and children in many sports activities. He will always be remembered for his easy smile and will be sorely missed.
Albert is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cheryl (Arnott) Schmidt, sons Albert J. Schmidt and his wife, Beth, Alexander J. Schmidt and his wife, Samantha, Adam J. Schmidt and daughter in law, Morgan Schmidt, and sister Lorielee Harrison. He was blessed with seven grandchildren: Ashlyn, Savannah, Aidan, August, Axel, Skylar and Arlo Schmidt.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at Pippin Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Church of Holy Cross, Dover, Delaware. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Dover, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made to Camden-Wyoming Little League or Holy Cross CYO.
Letters of Condolence may be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
