CAMDEN - Agnes Elizabeth Short passed away on Nov. 21, surrounded by family and loved ones at her daughter's home in Lincoln University, Pa.
She was born May 13, 1923 to Mary Elizabeth Williamson (Manie) and Luther J. Williamson in Greenwood, Del.
Agnes was predeceased by her parents and her husbands, Alfred Bradford Carter and Floyd M. Short; brothers, Lewis Williamson & Philip Williamson; sisters, Marie Williamson & Mabel Savage and son-in-law, Charles D. Lester.
She is survived by daughter, Laura E. Lester of Lincoln University, Pa. and son, Michael Short and his wife Susan of Lewes, Del.; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth Sharp (Tom) of Lincoln University, Pa., Kristina Molnar (David) of Lincoln University, Pa., Charlene Petersen (Michael) Reistertown, Md. and Chad Lester (Jennifer) of Lincoln University, Pa.; 9 great-grandchildren, Kai, Zachary & Jacob Sharp, Raleigh & Kameron Molnar, Olivia & Axel Petersen and Aleah & Thaxton Lester; nieces Mary E. Wiley of Lincoln, Del., and Delores Fountain & Elaine Ventura of Milford, Del..
She loved her home and tending to her vegetable garden and to her many flowers. She enjoyed traveling the world over. Agnes was an expert seamstress and had her own ceramics shop for several years. Cooking & baking for her friends and family gave her great joy. Her greatest loves were her family, friends and her beloved dog, Spunky.
Services will be held on Monday, 11/27, 2017 at Torbert's Funeral Chapel, 1145 E Lebanon Rd. Dover, DE 19901. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 with service to follow.
