Addie C. Beaman
Addie C. Beaman went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26th, 2020.
Addie was born in Lenoir County, N.C. on May 26, 1922, to the late and John and Margaret Clark.
She moved to Delaware in 1961 with her husband and two sons. Addie considered education very important and graduated with Honors from Wesley College and then Wilmington University with a Bachelor's degree in Behavior Science. She in turn worked as a social worker at Modern Maturity Center with the Meals on Wheels program until retiring at the age of 90. Addie was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Dover. There she served on the missionary board and then helped with the Sunday school for intermediate aged girls. Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening herbs and flowers.
In addition to her parents; Addie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Richard Troy Beaman; her son, Jeff Beaman; her brothers, Ray Clark and J.C. Clark; and her sister, Lillian Ricketts.
Addie is survived by her son, Richard C. (Cecelia); her daughter-in-law, Judy Beaman; her grandchildren, Nancy (Mark) Fields, Barbara Beaman, Richard (Alicia) Beaman and Kelly (Brian) Tinsley. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Logan and Maverick Fields, Laurel and Owen Beaman and JJ Tinsley. Addie is survived by her sister, Margaret Radford.
Funeral Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Meals and Wheels c/o Trudie Clay, at the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Avenue, Dover, DE 19904.
