The Salisbury Zoo will hold its annual Earth Day celebration on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is free to the public. The goal is to promote environmental awareness and how we can be good stewards to the Earth by showcasing over 20 Earth-friendly organizations.
Along with the exhibitors there will be other Earth Day activities during the event which include: zookeeper talks, recycled craft activities, face painting, animal meet and greets, and music by Ted Nichols drum circle.
Thanks to a sponsorship from Bryan & Brittingham, the Zoo will be selling one of a kind Earth Day T-shirts.
Proceeds benefit the Zoo’s education department. T-shirts are available that day for $10. Delmarva Power will be giving out redbud tree seedlings while supplies last.
The Zoo Stampede 5K will start the day out with a bang. The race, sponsored by Vernon Powell Shoes, will run thru the Zoo and City Park. Now in its 16th year, the race is one of the best 5Ks in Salisbury.
Go to the Zoo’s website and download a race application. For more information visit salisburyzoo.org or call 410-548-3188.
