Senior Allie Hynson notched the game-winning goal with just 11 seconds remaining to lift the second-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team over No. 11 Trinity (Conn.) College in the NCAA quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon, sending the Sea Gulls to the national semifinals.

Salisbury (21-1) built a 5-0 lead in the opening 13 minutes of play on goals from five different players. Dana King got the scoring started just 1:24 in as she got an edge on her defender before going through Trinity (13-7) goalkeeper Zoe Ferguson's legs for the 1-0 lead.

Elaine Draper then fired a shot into the top left corner of the net to make it 2-0 at the 23:21 mark. Alissa Talbertand Courtney Fegan added goals on free-position shots, while Hynson recorded her first of the day on a feed from Emily McQuay after McQuay was double teamed.

Allie Barrett, who finished the afternoon with four goals for the Bantams, tallied two in the middle of the first half to cut the Trinity deficit to 5-2.

Hynson put the Sea Gulls back up four as King pulled two defenders to the left side, freeing up Hynson in front of the net for the easy goal.

Trinity responded with 1:07 remaining in the first half to trim the Salisbury lead to 6-3 heading into the break.

After a silent six-plus minutes to start the second half, the two teams exchanged goals within 33 seconds of each other. The Bantams struck first in the second frame to make it 6-4, but Taylor Poore gave Salisbury some breathing room as she snuck her shot just inside the right post.

The Bantams rallied for three straight, however, tying the game at 7-7 with 9:30 to go.

King then tallied her second of the day at the 7:34 mark after taking a handoff from Krissy Murphy and finding room between Ferguson's legs once again, putting the maroon and gold up 8-7.

The Salisbury lead was brief, as Abby McInerney notched the equalizer for the Bantams with just over four minutes remaining.

Coming out of a timeout with 31 seconds on the clock, Murphy set up on the right side where she waited for the play develop. Hynson then cut across the middle, received the pass from Murphy, and sent the game winner into the left side of the net for the 9-8 victory. The win capped off a perfect 15-0 record at Sea Gull Stadium this season.

Gianna Falcone made six saves in net to earn her 19th win of the season. The senior added a team-high three groundballs to go along with one caused turnover in the game. The Sea Gulls turned the ball over just nine times while the Bantams were responsible for 16 turnovers. Fegan led Salisbury with two caused turnovers on the afternoon.

With the win, Salisbury advances to the NCAA semifinals to face Gettysburg College, a 13-10 winner over Amherst College on Sunday. The Sea Gulls and Bullets will face off in Salem, Virginia on Saturday, May 26, at a time to be determined.
