BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - William Howard Williamson, 96, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at home.
Born in Puckum on May 14, 1910, he was the son of the late Clarence and Lillian Sammons Williamson.
Mr. Williamson worked at Crown Cork in Brownsville, Texas until 1944 before returning to Bridgeville to work as a farmer, a profession which he pursued for the rest of his life.
He is survived by Robert C. Carey Jr., who Mr. Williamson and his late wife, Sadie, raised as their own and his wife, Bonnie and their two daughters, Tiffany Short and Katie Carey who Mr. Williamson and his wife treated like granddaughters, all of Bridgeville, Del. He is also survived by a nephew, Fred Foxwell and his wife, Irene of Bridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie, w ho passed away Dec. 4, 1988.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bloomery Cemetery, Federalsburg with the Rev. Joe LeCates officiating. The family will receive friends at the Williamson Funeral Home in Federalsburg from noon to 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Bloomery Cemetery in Federalsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
