Salisbury - William "Bill" D. Johnson died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Mardela Springs, he was the son of the late Luke and Sallie Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Isabelle Johnson; two daughters, Deitra Hales of Salisbury and Judy Rogers of Sharptown; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. His sister, Edie Johnson, preceded him in death. He devoted 45 years of service as a maintenance supervisor with DuPont Co. in Seaford. He later served as a bus driver for Dove Point and was an active and dedicated member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, a lifetime honorary member of the Sharptown Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Roelma Masonic Lodge in Sharptown. A funeral service was held Saturday at the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church in Sharptown. Interment followed in the Sharptown Fireman's Cemetery. Arrangements were in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
