CAMBRIDGE - Wayne Delano Wilson, 61, died on Thursday, March 8, 2007, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born May 8, 1945, in Cambridge, son of the late Sherwood Perry and Athedia Blanche Wilson Height.
He was a graduate of Mace's Lane High School in 1964. He married the former Ruby Cornish on Dec. 31, 1968. Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Army from 1968-70. Over the years he was employed with Connolly Containers, Chun King and Hi Tech Plastics.
In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is survived by six children, Lavon Wilson of Cambridge, Wayne Delany Wilson (Shanna) of Killeen, Texas, Tyann Thompson of Cambridge, Devan Wilson of Cambridge, and Sharika Wilson of Killeen, Texas; siblings, Athedia Wilson of Hurlock, Gerry Wilson (Felicity) of San Jose, Calif., Timothy R. Height (Romaine) of Hurlock, Bernadette Height of Baltimore, Angela Wing (Cornell Sr.) of District Heights, Edward Height (Darna) of Perris, Calif., Debra Height of Salisbury, Levi Height of Cambridge, Wydenia Perry, Sylvia Jones (Alvin), all of Glen Burnie, Vernita Butler and Jaynnine Butler both of Vienna; nine grandchildren, Paul Pinder Jr., Xzavier Pinder of Cambridge, Jada and Lyric Wilson of Killeen, Texas, Ke'Isha Johnson, Ke'Najah Thompson, Ke'Aira Hall, Ke'Maya Hall, Ke'Myra Hall, all of Cambridge; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dwayne Scotts; a stepfather, Levi Height; and grandparents, Walter and Eleanor Wilson.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. n Saturday, at Bethel AME Church 623 Pine St., Cambridge. There will be no viewing, but the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. The Rev. Lavonia and Lemuel Chester are the officiating ministers. Burial will follow in Aireys Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Woolford, Cornell Wing Sr., Purnell Flamer, Anthony Woolford, Josh Wing and Cornell Wing Jr.
