SALISBURY -- Virginia Lee Wharton Brooks, of Salisbury, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late Walter Hunter Wharton and Ida Edna Hudson Wharton. "Ginny" retired from Perdue in 1999 after 20 years. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wilson Blair Brooks; six children, Kelly Blair Brooks and Linda Christine Singleton, both of Salisbury, Nan Bagwell of Nelsonia, Phyllis Ann Bell of Cambridge, Walt Anthony Brooks of East New Market and Wilson Blair Brooks Jr. of Hurlock; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Wharton of Blades and Walt Wharton of Eden; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Billy Bryan Brooks; two sisters, Betty Brooks and June Wright; and a brother, Joseph Wharton. A funeral service was held Saturday, Oct.31, 2015, at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment was at Cokesbury Cemetery near Georgetown.
