Virgel B. Reed, 80 LINKWOOD - Virgel B. Reed, 80, of Linkwood, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the Dorchester General Hospital. She was born at Grand Forks, North Dakota on January 10, 1930, and was a daughter of the late William August and Mary Ellan Hogan Bruning. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday July 21at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church on Glasgow Street in Cambridge with the Rev. William Lawler officiating. Interment followed at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers were Phillip E. Mitchell, Jeffrey A. Mitchell, Kyle W. Reed, Jimmy Mitchell, Terry Mitchell and Roger Erickson. The family received friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society c/o Mrs. Doris Weber, 5163 Maple Dam Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
