This week is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury. It’s the last 3rd Friday hosted as an indoors only event – before the outdoor season kicks off in April.

All that means there won’t be artists and crafters hosted outside on the street, but there is still tons to do and see in the shops, restaurants and galleries in Downtown Salisbury.

This month's event coincides with St. Paddy’s Day – so wear green and get ready for gallery shows, live music and more.   

Because it’s the night before St. Patrick’s Day, Downtown Salisbury will be ready to celebrate with special sales, green beer and live music.  Stop by Barefoot Baby Boutique for anything green and take 10 percent off your purchase.

Roadie Joe’s Bar and Grill is ready with live music for happy hour by Rukie Dize from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and DJ Blendz from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.   Brew River will have live music for the dinner crowd by Richard Walton from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the Uprizing Band from 10 p.m. until close.

Stop by The Brick Room for a green beer and an Irish whiskey. Mojo’s and Market Street will both be ready with fabulous dinner specials and live music for the late night crowd starting at 10 p.m.  Market Street will have DJ Juan and Mojo’s will have DJ Vybe.

Salisbury University Art Galleries – Downtown Campus will be showing a brand new exhibit titled Brave New Earth.

Contemporary artists take new approaches to perceiving and understanding our changing natural world. Amy Balkin, Heather Theresa Clark & Gretjen Helene and Brack Morrow use new technologies, open archives, and installation to transform the gallery and investigate melting, sinking, and climate extremes.

Salisbury University Art Galleries – Downtown Campus is located on the Plaza level of the Gallery Building past Maya Bella’s Pizzeria.

Salisbury Art Space will again be showing their very popular exhibition, The Art and History of the Negro Leagues, in their temporary location – in the Gallery Building directly across from Maya Bella’s Pizzeria.

The exhibit, which will be open until March 31, explores the history and impact of the Negro League baseball through historical artifacts and works of art.  Among the memorabilia exhibited are baseball cards, autographed balls and bats, equipment, and historic documents. Families can enjoy free hot dogs, peanuts and popcorn, and a fun baseball themed art activity for all ages.  Support for the exhibition was provided by Maryland Eastern Shore Baseball.

This 3rd Friday marks the grand opening of Galaxy 38 – an out-of-this-world combination of Tech Center and Game Room, bringing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) to Downtown Salisbury!  Programs will include gaming, tech camps, 3-D printing, coding, website and mobile app development led by IT experts from around the world. Galaxy 38 will offer student incentives, birthday parties and community vents. We are partnering with local schools, NASA, and The City of Salisbury to offer cutting edge programming for students from across Delmarva.  Stop by 223 E. Main Street, three doors down from Mojo’s, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. to learn more about this awesome new Downtown business.

Downtown Trolley service will start earlier at 5 p.m. in front of the Guerrieri Academic Commons and will run until 7 p.m.  Service will resume later that night at 9 p.m. and run until 2 a.m. Boarding is free with a Gull Card or $1 otherwise and will bring you from Salisbury University and surrounding areas to Downtown Salisbury.
