FRUITLAND - Sylvia M. Anderson, of Salisbury, died Friday, April 1, 2016, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake surrounded by her family. Born in Fruitland, she was the daughter of the late William and Minerva Carey. An employee at the Wicomico County Board of Education for 45 years, she still worked full time and was passionate about her work at Glen Avenue Elementary School. She was a member of the first graduating class of Wicomico Senior High School and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Fruitland for 60 years. She is survived by her children, C.G. Anderson, Lynn Creasy and Joni Waldych; two grandchildren; brothers, William, and Raymond Carey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne and Ralph Carey. A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at St. John's United Methodist Church in Fruitland. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
