SALISBURY - Susan Nock Olds died at home on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna Nock. A graduate of Averett College and Salisbury State Teachers College, she was a member of Chapter V, PEO Sisterhood and the Wednesday Ladies Bowling League. She was an Asbury United Methodist Church member, served on many committees, was a youth Sunday School Teacher and a member of The Opportunity Shop Board. She was the wife of the late Col. Ernest Arthur Olds. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Betty Womack and Mary Jane Jones. She is survived by daughter, Ellen Olds Smith, of Salisbury; two sons, Ernest William Olds, of Wilmington, N.C., Jeffrey Alan Olds, of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, William Byrd Nock, Jr.; six grandchildren; and several nephews and a niece. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury. There will be a private internment. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
