Structure fire under investigation

Posted

SALISBURY — On Wednesday, June 26, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 4600 block of Coulbourne Mill Road in response to a structure fire at a residence.

There was one occupant of the house present at the time of the fire but no injuries or deaths have been reported.

The fire was discovered by the occupant of the house and appears to have originated on a side deck. The cause of the fire at this time appears to have been accidental as a result of discarded smoking materials. The occupant was displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.

This incident is currently under investigation.
