SALISBURY - Steven Johnson, Jr. died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Hazelhurst, Miss., he was the son of the late Stephen Johnson Sr. and Doretha Barden Johnson. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for 23 years, retiring October 1993. He was employed for 18 years with the former Coldwater Seafood in Cambridge, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Mount Enoch Holy Church in Salisbury. His wife, Grace Johnson, died in 2004; three brothers also preceded him in death. His survivors include one daughter, Vanessa Townsend; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; five siblings, Floylee Guynes, Perrine Handy, Beulah Grant, Thomas Fred and Howard Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at Mount Enoch Holy Church. Entombment was at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
