Posted

The public is invited to participate in holiday services at historic and beautiful St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Downtown Salisbury this week.

On Christmas Eve, December 24, two services will be held: The first at 5 p.m. is festive and family-centered, with a children’s procession to the crèche, children’s choir and Peter’s Voice, a folk group; the second at 11 p.m. is a beautiful candlelight service in the 19th century church.

At each of the services music will begin half an hour before.  On Christmas, December 25, at 10 a.m.  a traditional service will be held.  Then, the first Sunday after Christmas, December 27,  at 10 a.m., a joyous Christmas Lessons and Carols will have favorite holiday music performed by the choir and bell choir.  Looking ahead, on Wednesday, January 6, the feast of the Epiphany (the visit of the Magi) will be at 6 p.m., followed by dinner in the parish hall.

People of all denominations are invited to share in the celebrations and experience the beauty within. The historic church will be decorated with greenery for this special season.  For more information, call (410) 742-5118 or visit the St. Peter’s website at http://www.stpeterschurch.net/  The church is located at 115 St. Peter’s Street, off the main Downtown Plaza.
