St. Paul’s Episcopal Church -- Old Spring Hill Church -- is having a “Open House” on Saturday to celebrate the opening of The Chapel at St. Paul’s.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (commonly known as Spring Hill Church) was erected between 1771 and 1773. It met its demise in 2014 when a fire destroyed it.

The parish house was built in 1925 and was refurbished recently and a Chapel has been created out of the Sunday School Room, which is where services are currently being held.

The Congregation of The Chapel at St. Paul’s would like to extend an invitation to the general public to attend an Open House on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to help in the celebration of the opening of The Chapel at St. Paul’s.

It is located at 8700 Memory Garden Lane in Hebron.

Moose barbecued chicken sale is Saturday

A Bar-be-cue Chicken & Bake Sale will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salisbury Moose Lodge grounds at 833 Snow Hill Road.

The dinner will be a barbecued half-chicken with baked beans and a dinner roll for $8.

There will also be a variety of baked goods and sodas for sale.

There will be free delivery of orders of 10 or more to the same address.

The event is sponsored by the Moose Legion and the Women Of The Moose, with all proceeds to

Seeing Sound Series begins Sept. 15

Salisbury University Art Galleries, in collaboration with the SU New Media Program, offers the inaugural presentation of its Seeing Sound Series, highlighting contemporary artists working with live sound and visuals, at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in Conway Hall Room 317.

This event, “Volume 1,” features an audiovisual performance with western Massachusetts rock bands Hot Dirt and Tundrastomper, with a live liquid light show and abstract, colorful videos created by SU new media art students.

Accordion artist to perform Sept. 19 at SU

One of the world’s most acclaimed young accordion artists, Petar Marić, returns to Salisbury University 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

Born in 1990 in Serbia, he is the only musician to earn the World Trophy Accordion Championship in all four divisions: classical, folk, variety and techno.

Marić studied at Belgrade State Music Conservatory Vuckovic before continuing his training in France. He has performed throughout Europe and parts of Asia, winning international competitions in Germany and Italy. He also has received the Belgrade Ministry of Culture’s prestigious “Belgrade Angel” award for his contribution to cultural life.

Healing Rose Garden Party set for Sept. 15

A Healing Rose Garden Party will be held Thursday, Sept. 15, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at MAC Inc. in Salisbury.

The summer cocktail reception will be a celebration of the extended partnership of Susan G. Komen Maryland and MAC, and the Life After Breast cancer program through which the Healing Rose Community Garden was created.

Kidney treatments topic of Deer’s Head lunch

Join the Deer’s Head Center kidney dialysis staff on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from noon to 1 p.m. for an informative lunch presentation about kidney failure.

Learn about kidney disease, treatment, and prevention.

Each lunch guest should bring a canned food item to be donated to the Maryland Food Bank and a protein bar to be donated to Deer’s Head dialysis patients.

Sponsored by the Deer’s Head Center Foundation, lunch will be held in the Deer’s Head auditorium and will cost $20 each or a table of 6 for $110.
