CRISFIELD - Shirley Yvonne Sterling went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.
Born in Wachapreague, Va. on May 18, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Wesley Tyler and Nellie Kate Wolfe Tyler. Her husband, Randall Delano "Tucker" Sterling, died December 25, 2013.
For many years she was a bookkeeper for her father's seafood business, Lawrence Tyler Oyster Company, and most recently was a Teacher's Aid in the Somerset County School System.
Shirley devoted her life to her family and helping animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Tempie Bishop Bonaparte of Crisfield; grandson, Jeremy Steven Bishop of Crisfield; and great-grandsons, Isaiah Lewis Bishop and Cooper Charles Bishop.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Humane Society of Somerset County, MD, P.O. Box 493, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
